Cathy McQuaid writes: "This workshop will explore the culture of adoption in the 1950s–1980s and the impact of this on adopted adults and their adoptive and birth parents who may be our clients today. Using TA theory, participants will be introduced to the beliefs and attitudes of that time with a view to understanding the Adoption Triangle and the implication of this on all the parties concerned.
"We will also explore the changes in the law, and how this may impact on those involved in adoption.
"This workshop is specifically aimed at therapists who are working with people affected by closed adoption, that is to say, adoption that took place prior to the 1980s."
